Samba With Windows Server 2008 Active Directory

I spent a great deal of time yesterday messing with Samba and Windows Server 2008. I thought it would just be my normal messing around, but at some point by broken brain decided it was REALLY important to get linux connected to Windows Server 2008's Active Directory. Unfortunately, the currently released version of Samba 3.0.28a does not allow joing a linux computer to an Active Directory hosted on Windows 2008. But on the samba mailing list there was mentioning that on the test branch that they had fixed.

Well I have never done any work on Samba development, and still probably won't. Well, I decided I would figure out their source code revision system (git, have only used subversion and cvs before). And then figure out how to make an Ubuntu package from it (also never done). So it was about three in the morning and I had hacked my way through everything, and have created working Ubuntu/Debian packages of the test version of Samba 3.0.28b, which fixes the Windows 2008 problem. Long story short here are the packages. They have been tested to work on Ubuntu, and include winbind as well, which has also been tested. Of note is that the packages do not include man pages (Did I mention I've never done this before?). Here are the links:

Edit:

This is no longer a relevant problem as testing was completed on the 3.0.28b, and the problem has been officially fixed
